Paris, November 30. Rapid melting of glaciers causes particular concern in Kyrgyzstan. President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambaev said speaking at the UN climate conference in Paris.
According to him, rapid melting of mountain glaciers causes a special concern in Kyrgyzstan, which are the area of formation of fresh water in Central Asia. According to forecasts, by 2025 the total area of glaciers in Kyrgyzstan may decrease by an average of 30-40%, so that the water content of rivers in Central Asia could be reduced by 25-35%, and by 2100 all the glaciers in Kyrgyzstan could disappear from the map of the Earth.
